Raunds Playgroup - Management Structure
We are a registered charity and have a parent run management committee some of whose children attend the setting.
The committee consists of:
Each year we hold an A.G.M (Annual General Meeting), at this meeting we invite all parents to come along and join our committee. We cannot stress how important the committee are to us as without them there would be no setting. We rely on parent support and input and this is a great way for you to have an insight into your child's learning, development and experience. A big part of being a committee member would be fundraising as this enables us to have new equipment, outings etc which will benefit all the children and will enhance their level of experience with us.The Early Years Foundation say; 'The relationship between the child's parents and the registered person is crucial to the child's well-being, development and progress. Children benefit most where there is a trusting and mutually supportive partnership. The registered person and staff welcome parents into the setting and there is a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise.' We adhere to this through 'Parent Helpers' and offering a parent rota. This can encourage new skills or enhance old ones, give confidence, meet other parents, aid our fundraising. We also have a board situated above where the children hang their coats, it is called 'Our Little Steps'. Parents are invited to share information about their child by writing on a cloud and sticking it up on the board. We also invite parents to contribute to our 'parents expectations for their children' flower which is looked at each term. We have a key worker system in place. When your child starts Playgroup they will be given a key worker. You will be notified of who this will be. The key worker will be responsible for recording your child's progress and identifying his/her needs. If you have any worries or concerns about your child or want to discuss how your child is getting on in playgroup please feel free to talk to their key worker or the playgroup leader. Having a key worker does not mean that the other staff members are not involved with the development and caring for your child. All members of staff work as a team and we hope that you will feel at ease in communicating to them all. Occasionally we will send home a simple observation sheet that we will ask parents to fill in at home and return to their child's key worker. This helps with collating observations we have of their child in the setting and how to move forward together in our planning for them.
