Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage, this incorporates the Early Learning Goals for all areas of development;

Our plans are available for you to see at all times. We have a different topic/theme each term and activities and resources will be focused around this topic. We will inform you via a curriculum letter each term thus explaining the areas of learning and how they link with the theme / topic. This will also give you an insight as to how you can enhance your child's learning and development at home. The areas of experience offered in our setting include the following;

We are fortunate enough to have a large fully secure garden area, which allows for outdoor toys, exploring, an\d nature activities. We also have a covered outdoor area to help extend learning with outdoor play whatever the weather. The resources available to your child will vary each day giving your child a variety of experiences. We liaise with the reception school teachers, at Park Infants, so that children going to school can go over (during the summer term) in small groups with a member of staff, to get them used to the classroom setting. We try to incorporate outings into our curriculum (e.g. walks, library) but we do rely on parents help at this time. We often have visitors to coincide with the curriculum (e.g. fire fighters and fire engine, police, nurses). The staff will monitor your child's development by taking observations whilst activities are taking place and on the spot observations. Your child will have a workbook, which collates all their observations, this is available for you to browse on request and it will be given to you when your child leaves playgroup. Our setting is committed to valuing diversity by providing equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice for all children and their families. We do not discriminate against anyone regardless of their religion, culture, beliefs or disabilities. Our aim is to show respectful awareness of all events in the lives of the children and families in the setting, and in our society as a whole, and to welcome the diversity of backgrounds from which they come.
